travel insurance

It is very important that both you and your luggage are insured whilst outside the UK. Insurance can be obtained through many brokers, right up until the last minute before you fly, even at the airport.

If you have booked on a package, you will probably be required to take out the insurance offered by the tour operator or prove that you have arranged similar cover yourself. It must be noted that cost and cover can differ widely so it pays to shop around. If you paid for your ticket by credit card or charge card, you may get automatic travel insurance - but it could be very limited. Check your cover with the card company.
